About Michele

Who is Michele Kus?

I surrendered my life to Jesus in 1994 as a young adult after several life changing encounters with him. I’ve had a passion for the King and his kingdom ever since that has never diminished but only increased.

I LOVE the Church and feel a deep sense of calling to see her grow into the fullness of who she's meant to be.

I’m a mom to three amazing daughters. 💝💝💝

I’m a music producer, DJ, audiobook producer, wild creative, and disruptive mystic. 🎧

I’m also a certified life coach, a certified Myers-Briggs Master Practitioner, an author and speaker, a doctoral student, and a podcaster. 🎙️

My Training & Creds 👩🏼‍🎓

I earned my Master’s degree in Educational Ministries from Wheaton College Graduate School in 2003 and was hired shortly thereafter to teach undergrad courses in my department.

I spent five years in Bible school, with my final year spent in a teaching mentorship with Dr. Martin Trench, pastor and co-author of Victorious Eschatology. During that time, I wrote Brilliantly You, the only faith-based Myers-Briggs workbook on the market.

For the past two years, I’ve been mentored by Bill Vanderbush. His insights—along with Martin’s—rebooted my theology and installed a whole new grace-based operating system that I had previously lacked.

I’m now working on my doctorate and designing a Certificate in Spiritual Formation program for my seminary.

I also lead two small groups at my church (Big Picture of the Bible and Naturally Supernatural) and serve on the worship team. 🎶 Phew!

Stuff I Nerd Out Over:

📖 Bible & theology.
👤 Our new creation identity.
🧠 Psychology & neuroscience.
📈 Self-awareness and personal & spiritual growth.
🌟 Emotional & spiritual intelligence.
🎶 Music, sound, creativity, and the art of being fully, beautifully human.

The Unhinged Podcast

I co-host Unhinged: Separating Faith from Fiction with Dr. Martin Trench, where we help people unhinge from toxic belief systems and build a freer, healthier relationship with God that is grounded in truth. It’s a delightfully unreligious space for people who want to explore their biggest faith questions in a safe and fun way, without fear or shame. If you’ve ever wanted to grow spiritually and explore topics that seem taboo in church, without losing your mind, your identity, or your sense of humor — you’re our people.
